ICED LAVENDER MATCHA

Ingredients:

  1. 1 tsp matcha powder
  2. 1/4 cup hot water (not boiling)
  3. 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  4. 1-2 tsp lavender syrup (adjust to taste)
  5. Ice cubes
  6. Lavender sprigs for garnish (optional)

For Lavender Syrup:

  1. 1/2 cup water
  2. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  3. 1 tbsp dried culinary lavender buds

Instructions:

Make the Lavender Syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar and dried lavender buds. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for about 15 minutes.

Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the lavender buds. Let the syrup cool completely.

Prepare the Matcha:

In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy. 

Use the bamboo whisk or an electric frother for best results.

Assemble the Drink:

Fill a glass with ice cubes.

Pour the lavender syrup over the ice.

Add the whisk matcha.

Top with milk, stirring gently to combine.

Garnish and Serve:

Garnish with a sprig of lavender (if desired).

Serve immediately and enjoy the calming flavors.
