From sources , Over 70 million Americans don't sleep well. This lack of sleep is degrading our health. We feel it in our energy level, hard to focus and it can even contribute to chronic illness.

Lack of sleep can lead to insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, mood swings, poor immune function, hormonal imbalance, lower life expectancy.

In my opinion, to achieve a better night's sleep:

  1. Aim for atleast 20 minutes of sunlight everyday, it tiggers your brain to release chemicals that regulate sleep cycles.
  2. I recommend turning of Wifi and keeping all of your electronic devices away from your bed.
  3. Keep a journal or note book by your bed and write down your to do list or ruminations before you go to sleep. So you can close your eyes and make it less likely for your mind to spin.
  4. Use relaxation practices like guided imagery, meditation or deep breathing to calm your mind.

The analysis looked at seven pepars and found that long term Tai-Chi practice was significantly associated with improved sleep quality, duration and latency in those who had previously experienced disordered sleep.
